Role Overview

The Travel Editor will lead ORO AFRICA Magazine’s travel coverage, shaping compelling stories that showcase Africa’s destinations, luxury hospitality, culture, and global travel connections. The role requires strong editorial judgment, cultural sensitivity, and a global perspective to position Africa as a premier travel and lifestyle destination.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the travel editorial strategy for print and digital platforms

• Commission, edit, and write travel features, destination guides, and hotel reviews

• Curate luxury, cultural, and experiential travel content across Africa and beyond

• Collaborate with photographers, writers, and designers to produce high-quality visual storytelling

• Build relationships with tourism boards, airlines, hotels, and travel partners

• Ensure editorial accuracy, consistency, and alignment with ORO AFRICA’s brand voice

• Monitor global travel trends and identify emerging African destinations

• Contribute to cover stories, special editions, and themed travel sections

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience in travel journalism, editorial writing, or lifestyle media

• Strong knowledge of African and global travel markets

• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills

• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments

• Strong network within the travel, hospitality, or tourism industry is an advantage

• Degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, or related field preferred
