The Lecturer in Technology Education (Computer Studies) will train future teachers in computer literacy, ICT integration, and computer studies pedagogy. The role includes preparing educators for teaching digital skills in secondary schools and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Teach computer education methodology, ICT integration in learning, and computer literacy

Supervise teaching practice, research, and ICT-based projects

Conduct and publish research on educational technology and computer education

Develop curricula aligned with Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC)

Mentor students preparing for careers as ICT educators

Collaborate with schools and ministries to advance digital literacy training

Requirements

PhD in Education with specialization in Technology/Computer Studies Education

Master’s in Educational Technology, Computer Science, or related field (mandatory if PhD in progress)

At least 3 years of teaching experience in ICT/Computer Education

Publications in educational technology or computer studies pedagogy journals

Proficiency in educational software and digital platforms

Strong mentorship and instructional design skills
