Job Description
Under the supervision of the UNEP UN-REDD Programme Coordinator for Africa, the Consultant will:
Consult with government bodies, NGOs, civil society, legal experts, private sector, and academia.
Identify gaps in the REDD+ process and recommend improvements.
Assess governance architecture, inter-ministerial coordination, and stakeholder participation.
Map REDD+ policies and tools, including Registry, SIS, TREES documents, and evaluate compliance with international standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Forestry, Climate Change, Geography, Sustainable Development, or related fields.
Minimum five years of experience in REDD+, forestry, climate change, or environmental management.
Knowledge of Eastern Africa’s political economy and familiarity with international and national REDD+ frameworks.
Ability to work in multicultural and multi-disciplinary environments.
