The Chief Principal Supply Chain Management Officer will provide strategic leadership in procurement, logistics, and inventory management. The officer ensures that all procurement activities are conducted in line with public procurement laws and best practices while guaranteeing value for money and transparency.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.

Oversee tendering, supplier selection, and contract management processes.

Ensure compliance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015.

Manage supplier relationships and evaluate performance.

Supervise stock control, asset management, and disposal of obsolete items.

Coordinate procurement planning and reporting to the Board.

Provide technical guidance to the Procurement Department staff.

Prepare periodic reports on procurement and supply chain activities.

Requirements for Appointment

Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Commerce, Economics, or equivalent.

Professional qualification in procurement (CIPS/KISM) and membership with KISM in good standing.

Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement and supply chain, 5 of which must be at senior management.

In-depth knowledge of procurement legislation, regulations, and ERP systems.

Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
