Role Description
As a Programs Coordinator Intern, you will support the
planning, coordination, and execution
of Mental Beacon programs and events. This is a
hands-on, part-time role
where you will gain practical experience in program management, community engagement, and operational systems in a growing organization.
This internship is
initially unpaid
, but strong performers will have the opportunity to transition into a
stipend-based role
as Mental Beacon programs grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute programs (workshops, webinars, cohorts, community events)
- Coordinate logistics: venues, schedules, materials, roles
- Manage participant registration, attendance lists, and communication (WhatsApp/email)
- Support onboarding and engagement of participants
- Send reminders, updates, and follow-ups
- Track program outcomes, attendance, and feedback
- Document processes and help create templates for repeatable programs

Qualifications
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to follow through on tasks independently
- Experience or interest in project coordination, event management, or youth programs
- Own smartphone and reliable internet
- Based in Nairobi or able to attend in-person events
