The Role

We’re looking for a passionate, detail oriented React Native Engineer to join Hubitable in a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi, Museum Hill. You’ll be at the forefront of
rapidly
building beautiful, performant mobile experiences that put healthy living in the palm of our users’ hands. From seamless animations to offline-first architecture, you’ll craft the app experiences that make Hubitable indispensable to health-conscious individuals and empower chefs to grow their culinary businesses.

Day-to-Day Highlights:

• Build and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native, ensuring pixel-perfect UI/UX across iOS and Android.
• UI testing on both android and ios Platforms
• Implement complex features and flows based on design documents.
• Optimize app performance, bundle coverage maintenance, and fps improvement.
• Collaborate with designers to translate Figma mockups into responsive, accessible mobile interfaces.
• Write clean, modular code with comprehensive testing (Jest, Detox) and maintain CI/CD pipelines for mobile deployments.

What We’re Looking For

We want mobile developers who obsess over user experience, are
detail-oriented,
and thrive in fast-paced startup environments.

• Technical Prowess
  : Bachelor’s degree in computer science/software engineering, or any formal training or equivalent experience. 2+ years of professional React Native development with published apps on the App Store and/or Google Play.
• React Native Mastery
  : Deep understanding of React Native internals, navigation libraries (React Navigation), state management (Redux, Zustand, or Context API), and native module integration.
• Mobile-First Mindset
  : Experience with mobile-specific challenges—offline storage, push notifications, deep linking, app performance profiling, and platform-specific optimizations.
• UI/UX Sensibility
  : Strong eye for design, experience with animation libraries (Reanimated, Lottie), and ability to build responsive layouts that feel native.
• Problem-Solving Skills
  : Track record of debugging complex mobile issues, optimizing app startup times, and handling edge cases gracefully.
• Soft Skills That Scale
  : Excellent communication; ability to work autonomously; passion for mobile technology and staying current with React Native ecosystem updates.
