Job Overview
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) – Schools is responsible for sourcing, qualifying, and nurturing school and organizational leads. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this role focuses on both inbound and outbound outreach to schools, districts, and education-focused organizations.
This is an individual contributor role with direct ownership of pipeline development and lead conversion, supporting institutions as they explore non-traditional education pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly to inbound inquiries from schools, districts, and education organizations
Conduct outbound prospecting to generate new leads across charter schools, private schools, micro-schools, and education service providers
Expand outreach to non-traditional partners such as military programs, athletic organizations, and training academies
Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities for Time4Learning and Brightspire
Research target accounts, identify decision-makers, and tailor outreach strategies
Educate partners on hybrid, independent, and personalized education models
Present the value of Time4Learning and Brightspire solutions to meet institutional needs
Schedule discovery calls, demos, and follow-up meetings with the Director of Business Development
Provide accurate guidance on ESA funding, school choice programs, and partnership options
Maintain detailed CRM records of outreach, interactions, and outcomes
Track and report KPIs including outreach activity, qualification rates, and pipeline contribution
Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to refine messaging and strategy
Support virtual or in-person education events, conferences, and trade shows as needed
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Marketing, or a related field preferred
2–4 years of sales or business development experience (education, edtech, or SaaS preferred)
Proven success in outbound prospecting and lead qualification
Strong consultative sales skills with school administrators and decision-makers
Familiarity with alternative education models is a plus
Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Ability to travel occasionally for conferences or school visits
