Job Summary
The Manager, Alumni Affairs will serve as the primary liaison for Aga Khan University alumni engagement across East Africa. The role focuses on strengthening alumni relationships, managing regional chapters, delivering engagement programs, and supporting fundraising and philanthropic initiatives aligned with the University’s advancement strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Plan and execute a comprehensive annual calendar of alumni events, both in-person and virtual.
Support and develop alumni chapters in key regional cities.
Identify and cultivate fundraising opportunities through alumni engagement.
Support digital campaigns and philanthropic initiatives to grow alumni contributions.
Build partnerships with local organizations aligned with university and alumni objectives.
Maintain accurate alumni records in collaboration with Advancement Services.
Track engagement metrics and prepare quarterly regional alumni reports.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, or a related field.
Experience & Skills
5–7 years of experience in alumni relations, stakeholder engagement, or program management.
Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or international development settings is preferred.
Strong understanding of the East African regional context.
Proficiency in CRM systems, event management platforms, and digital communication tools.
